About Me
Hey, I'm Ayaan. I'm a Systems Engineer based in the Chicago area, currently working at Motorola Solutions. My day-to-day involves designing and deploying reliable network infrastructure and public safety systems, but my interest in tech goes way beyond my work.
I love building things, figuring out how systems communicate, and optimizing hardware. Whether I'm managing my home server, writing scripts to automate my daily tasks, or tearing down parts on my car, I enjoy hands-on problem solving.
This site (hosted right on my own homelab infrastructure) is a little corner of the internet for my projects, my experience, and the things I enjoy doing.
What I'm Into
Homelab & Self-Hosting
I currently self-host many different services and have enjoyed making the switch to managing my own infrastructure. I have a NAS I use for mass storage and I use Docker for containerization. I have automated my media server through the arrs stack (Plex, Radarr, Sonarr, etc.), and route everything through Caddy.
PC Hardware & Gaming
Always tweaking my setup for maximum performance. I love all kinds of games but I mainly play competitive games like Counter-Strike and League of Legends. My favorite single-player game of all time is Red Dead Redemption 2.
Automotives
I'm always learning and researching about cars. I'm interested in car modifications like performance mods, body work, car audio, I have a passion for old cars as I prefer the more analogue feel they provide. I currently own a 2001 Lexus GS430. I also enjoy go-karting, SIM racing, and games like Forza or Assetto Corsa.
Other Interests
My favorite sports are Basketball and Soccer and the Chicago Bulls and FC Bayern are my favorite teams respectively. I also enjoy travelling and seeing new places or unwinding with a new TV show or movie.
